Amanda M. James maintains a general civil litigation practice with a focus on family, estate, personal injury and general civil disputes. She obtained her law degree from Thompson Rivers University as a member of the inaugural class. While at TRU, she represented TRU at the Wilson Moot, a national advocacy competition involving the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and served as the class representative for the Society of Law Students.
Amanda has experience dealing with a variety of civil disputes and handles a broad civil litigation practice. She has appeared as counsel in every level of court in British Columbia representing and advising clients on a range of family, estate, injury claims and general civil disputes.
She joined Richter Trial Lawyers as an associate in 2015 and as a partner in 2020. She completed a mixed articling term, splitting her time between a biotech firm in Vancouver – focusing on corporate governance and securities – and a small personal injury firm. She obtained her B.A from the University of British Columbia in 2010.
Amanda currently serves as the financial adviser to Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and spends her free time on the mountain in fresh powder or on the softball diamond.
